Dear Parent/Guardian, 4.3.19
Over the next few weeks, we will be doing ‘Show and Tell’ on a Wednesday to develop our listening and talking skills in literacy. This week (Wednesday 6th March) we would like to start with something your child would like to share with the rest of the class. This could be a toy, a book or a picture. Something small enough to fit in their school bag that is not too valuable or fragile would be ideal (to avoid loss or damage)
Your child only needs to come ready to talk about their item and answer questions – it is not a presentation that requires much preparation.
Please see below the experiences and outcomes for Listening and Talking that we will cover:
Tools for listening and talking – to help me when interacting or presenting within and beyond my place of learning.
When I engage with others, I know when and how to listen, when to talk, how much to say, when to ask questions and how to respond with respect. LIT 1-02a
We love having Mrs Mackay in our class. She helps us with our learning and is lots of fun! She has quite a fan club in P2/3 as you can see in this picture! We love having her in our class and playing maths games and doing our reading jobs with her. She also does a great job of looking after our class “pet”, Brèagha! Thank you, Mrs Mackay!
This week is Digital Citizenship Week so we have been learning about e-safety and digital footprints. We know that we shouldn’t share our address, full name, birthday, telephone number or any other personal information with people we don’t know or on the internet. We also learned to THINK before we post anything online to make a positive digital footprint. Is it:
If the answer to any of these questions is no, then don’t post!
We were visited by the digital leaders from P5 and used some digital technologies in the classroom. We used the spheros, Codapillars, Beebots and played coding games. It was very fun! Thank you for helping us, P5!
I am collecting milk bottle tops to use for spelling, phonics and maths activities and would be grateful if you could help.
If you could collect the plastic milk bottle tops (doesn’t matter what colour they are) and send them into school in one go, that would be fantastic! Thank you to those of you that have already brought some in.
We had great fun at our Christmas party today and yesterday. Santa even came for a visit and gave us all a present! How kind!
We loved all the excellent dancing and fancy Christmas outfits!!
Merry Christmas everyone!
