We had great fun at our Christmas party today and yesterday. Santa even came for a visit and gave us all a present! How kind!
We loved all the excellent dancing and fancy Christmas outfits!!
Merry Christmas everyone!
We have been learning some Scottish dancing in PE. Last week we learned the Gay Gordon. This week we learned Strip the Willow and had lots of fun! We really enjoyed hearing the Scottish music and clapping and stamping our feet to the beat! We were very dizzy and very warm after all the dancing!
A quick reminder that P2 and P3 will be having their Christmas parties this week.
P3 – Wednesday 19th after lunch (1:30pm)
P2 – Thursday 20th in the morning (9:15am)
You might want to send you child dressed in their party clothes, particularly if they have their party first thing in the morning (P2). For those having their parties in the afternoon (P3) you can either get changed into party clothes or come dressed for the day.
We look forward to having a dance and playing some party games!
Your child has been working very hard this week on retelling a well known fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk, for their Key Assessment Task. They acted it out and used adjectives to describe their part of the story. They then went on to write about the story and draw pictures. What a fantastic job they did!
These have been sent home today for you to have a look at with your child. Please read the comments and add your own comment in the ‘Parent Voice’ section. Once you have done this, please return them to school in your child’s book bag.
A wee reminder that tomorrow is the dress rehearsal for our First Level show. You should all now have your tickets for the upcoming shows, if you have any questions let us know.
Thank you to those of you that have brought in costumes to school. If you haven’t already, please bring in costumes by tomorrow for our dress rehearsal in the afternoon (Friday 7th December).
Those with speaking/dancing parts will have received a letter about costumes required. For singers, non-speaking parts and non-dancing parts, plain school trousers or leggings and a colourful (preferably plain top) are to be worn. Some children have brought in sunglasses which is fine too.

Thank you to everyone who made it along to the ‘Books and Buns’ event on Friday. We hope you enjoyed seeing the library and sharing the book bags with your child. The books and games they were given were fantastic and lots of fun.
A huge thank you to Miss Schimield for the massive amount of work she has put into getting the library to where it is now. It was an enormous task for her to transform the room from the previous P1 classroom to The Treehouse and Library. Thank you also for organising all the lovely refreshments. We really enjoyed it!
We have been enjoying reading our books from home to celebrate Book Week Scotland. We were talking about the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts and looking at contents pages in non-fiction texts to find information.
We hope to see you tomorrow afternoon for the opening of our library and to explore the free Book Bag your child will receive that is supplied by the Scottish Government.
Have a look at some of the photos from our dolphin visit last week and our ‘ready’ rule presentation in assembly last Friday.
